How We Got Started
In 1987, Verdell Davis Krisher’s husband passed away in a tragic plane crash. She found strength in scripture and her faith in Jesus to navigate the grief journey. In 2007, Verdell connected with Marsha Mason, who had just lost her husband in a catastrophic hunting accident, and committed to disciple her towards hope and healing with the same scriptures.
In August 2020, after my husband's passing from a fast and devastating cancer battle, Marsha reached out and committed to walk alongside me. As she encouraged and shepherded me, the amount of young widows that came into my life was unspeakable. The Lord whispered on my heart to start a group so that all of us could stand on the Word of God and learn that He CAN be trusted and there can be life after loss. I named the group “Marsha’s Heart” in honor of my dear friend and by God’s grace, she agreed to help continue the ministry.
As the ministry grew, we formed a team and established Marsha’s Heart as a 501(c)3 non-profit.
